Strandritten met Joh. de Jong - Guided tour

With Joh. de Jong Strandritten, you can experience Ameland in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
What can you expect during the beach ride?
From the beach at Nes and Buren, you travel by tractor and beach wagon across the wide beach towards the nature area De Hôn, the easternmost tip of Ameland.
- Riding across the beach: With your feet hanging out, the salty sea breeze through your hair and views over the sea, the ride itself is already an experience. The trip follows the beach at a calm pace, past dunes, sea and wide sandy flats.
To the nature area De Hôn: The destination is the Hôn, a special nature area on the eastern side of Ameland. It is a place that you do not just easily reach as a walker or cyclist, which makes the ride feel extra special.
- Time to explore: At the Hôn, there is time for a short walk, looking for shells or simply enjoying the peace and quiet. The wide landscape, the silence and the fresh sea air make this a wonderful place to have a look around.
- Chance of spotting seals and beautiful views: With a bit of luck, seals can be seen. In clear weather, you can look towards Schiermonnikoog, its lighthouse and sometimes even towards Lauwersoog.
- Fun for young and old: The beach ride is suitable for families, couples, groups of friends and anyone who wants to experience Ameland in a different way. Children especially tend to love the ride across the beach and looking for shells.
