Vogelkijkhut Lange Duinen - Observation point

The Vogelkijkhut Lange Duinen is a bird hide in the dune and marsh area of the Lange Duinen, north of Hollum on Ameland. From the hide you can look out undisturbed over a dune lake fringed with reeds.

What can you expect at the Vogelkijkhut Lange Duinen?
- View over the water: The hide stands on the edge of a dune lake, surrounded by reeds, grassland and dunes.
- Rich birdlife: With a bit of luck you will see the marsh harrier, great crested grebe, little grebe or water rail. In winter the smew is a familiar visitor, and in the surrounding dunes you often hear the linnet.
Interesting all year round: Spring and the migration season are especially rewarding, but there is plenty to see in the other seasons too.
- Butterflies and plants: On your way to the hide you pass through a dune landscape with grasslands, full of flowers and butterflies in summer.
